ℹ️ How to add or change the WordPress Login Page Notification

In many places, website administrators are legally required to notify users when their activities are being monitored or logged. Compliance standards such as GDPR typically mandate that organizations inform users about activity logging practices.

Activity Log Pro includes functionality to display a notification message on your WordPress login page, informing users that their administrative actions will be tracked. Below is an example of how this notification appears on the login page:

The message shown is the default text that appears when this feature is activated. You can easily customize this notification message to meet your specific requirements by following the instructions below.

How to customize the WordPress login page notification

To modify the login page notification message, navigate to Activity Log Pro > Settings and locate the Login Page Notification section. Here you can add your custom text in the provided textarea field. The notification accepts plain text, and you can also include HTML links using standard anchor tag syntax (<a href=”URL”>link text</a>).Here’s how to configure your custom notification:

  1. 1. Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
  2. 2. Navigate to Activity Log Pro > Settings
  3. 3. Scroll down to find the Login Page Notification section
  4. 4. Select Yes to enable the notification feature
  5. 5. Enter your custom message in the textarea that appears
  6. 6. Click Save Settings to apply your changes

The default notification text reads:

“Please be advised that for security compliance and audit purposes, all administrative actions and modifications performed within the WordPress dashboard are systematically recorded in a comprehensive activity log. This monitoring is implemented through the Activity Log Pro plugin. For enhanced security verification, each log entry includes the IP address from which the administrative session originated.”

How to disable the WordPress login page notification

If you need to turn off the login page notification, simply navigate back to Activity Log Pro > Settings and locate the Login Page Notification section. Select No to disable the feature entirely, then save your settings. When disabled, no notification message will appear on the WordPress login page, regardless of what text is configured in the textarea field.

Reset to default notification text

Activity Log Pro provides a convenient reset function if you want to restore the original notification message. In the Login Page Notification section, you’ll find a Reset Notification Text button below the textarea. Clicking this button will immediately restore the default compliance-focused message.

Important considerations

Compliance requirements: Many regulations require website administrators to inform users about activity monitoring. This notification feature helps you meet these legal obligations.

HTML support: The notification field supports basic HTML, allowing you to include links to your privacy policy or other relevant documentation.

Automatic display: Once enabled, the notification automatically appears on all login attempts, ensuring consistent user awareness of your logging practices. This feature is particularly valuable for organizations that need to maintain audit trails while ensuring transparency with their users about data collection and monitoring practices.
