Activity Log Pro 1.0.5 is out, and this one has a feature I’ve been wanting to add for a while. There’s also a handful of quality-of-life improvements that I think you’ll notice straight away. (ChangeLog | User Guide)
Security Alerts (Premium)
This is the big one. Up until now, Activity Log Pro has been brilliant at recording everything that happens on your site – but it’s always been something you’d check in on. With 1.0.5, it can now come to you.
Security Alerts let you receive instant email notifications when something important happens. You get to choose which categories matter to you: Security events (like failed logins or role changes), Content Changes, or Core & Plugin updates. You can set a cooldown period so you don’t get bombarded during a busy deployment, and you can send alerts to multiple recipients – great for agency setups or team-managed sites.
It’s peace of mind without having to log in and check.
Stats that actually do something
The Stats & Insights cards have always shown you useful numbers at a glance. Now, clicking any card takes you straight to the Activity Log screen with that event type already filtered in. It’s a small change, but it makes the stats page feel much more useful – you can go from “huh, lots of failed logins this week” to actually reviewing them in one click.
Log Retention info in the Stats Box
A few people have asked where to find their current retention settings without digging into the Settings page. The Stats Box now shows your active Log Retention period and the next scheduled Auto-Purge date, right there on the main log screen. Nothing hidden, just useful at-a-glance info.
Exclude deleted media attachments (Premium)
Following on from the 1.0.3.1 update that added the option to exclude uploaded media from specific post types, you can now do the same for deleted media attachments. If you’re working with themes or plugins that churn through media regularly, this gives you cleaner, more focused logs.
Fixes
A couple of things that were quietly annoying have been sorted out. The user filter dropdown now correctly shows all users with logged activity, including those using custom roles from themes like Houzez – if you ever noticed some users missing from that list, they’ll be there now. There was also a media exclusion issue that wasn’t applying correctly in certain configurations, which has been fixed.
Getting the update
If you’re already on Activity Log Pro, the update will appear in your WordPress dashboard as normal. Your logs and settings stay exactly as they are – nothing to reconfigure.
