Adding Dashboard Widgets and Smart User Experience Features.
I’m excited to announce the release of Activity Log Pro 1.0.1 (ChangeLog), bringing you a host of new dashboard widgets and smart user experience enhancements that make monitoring your WordPress site even more intuitive and powerful.
Dashboard Widgets Revolution
The biggest addition in this release is our comprehensive Dashboard Widgets, designed to give you instant insights into your site’s activity patterns without leaving your WordPress dashboard. These four new widgets transform your raw activity data into actionable insights, that help you understand your site’s behaviour at a glance.

The Daily Activity Widget provides a visual overview of site activity patterns, helping you identify busy periods and quiet times. This is particularly valuable for understanding when your team is most active or spotting unusual activity spikes that might indicate security concerns.
The Activity by Event Type Widget breaks down your logs by category, showing you exactly what types of activities are happening most frequently. Whether it’s user logins, content updates, or plugin changes, this widget helps you understand the nature of activity on your site.

The Action Type Distribution Widget gives you insights into the types of actions being performed, from creates and updates to deletions and modifications. This granular view helps identify workflow patterns and potential areas for optimization.
Finally, the Peak Activity Times Widget reveals when your site sees the most activity, helping you understand usage patterns and plan maintenance windows or security monitoring accordingly.

Quick Tips for Better Workflow
We’ve introduced a comprehensive Quick Tips feature that guides you through the plugin’s capabilities. These tips cover everything from basic log management to advanced database optimization techniques, feature discovery, security best practices, and workflow optimization strategies. Whether you’re new to activity logging or looking to maximize your existing setup, these contextual tips help you get the most out of Activity Log Pro.
Enhanced WordPress Core Tracking
The new Core Track Events option for WordPress core updates gives you more granular control over what gets logged. This enhancement ensures you can track WordPress core updates separately from other system events, providing clearer visibility into your site’s core maintenance activities.
Smart Rating System
The new Smart Rating Request system introduces meaningful milestones that encourage user feedback at the right moments. Rather than interrupting your workflow, the system intelligently identifies when you’ve had sufficient experience with the plugin to provide valuable feedback, making the rating process more natural and helpful for both users and developers.
Improved User Experience
This release also brings significant improvements to the overall user experience. The Data Picker UI on the Export page has been refined for better usability, and we’ve enhanced the plugin’s stability and performance across all features. The plugin upgrade experience now includes better data preservation, ensuring your existing logs and settings remain intact during updates.
We’ve also improved the consistency between Log Search results and the Live Monitoring feature when enabled, creating a more cohesive experience when filtering and viewing your activity logs.
That’s it for this release, you can get the full ChangeLog here.
This update represents my commitment to making Activity Log Pro not just a powerful logging solution, but an intuitive tool that helps you understand and manage your WordPress site more effectively. The new dashboard widgets transform your activity data into actionable insights, while the enhanced user experience features make the plugin more accessible and user-friendly.
Whether you’re managing a single site or multiple client installations, these new features help you stay on top of your site’s activity patterns and make informed decisions about your WordPress maintenance and security strategies.
